Giàu để giúp người nghèo 
Từ một hộ nghèo, ông Huỳnh Văn Bé (thị trấn Thanh Bình, huyện Thanh Bình, Đồng Tháp) vươn lên trở thành tỉ phú với việc... trộn muối ớt. Thương hiệu “Muối sấy Ngọc Yến” của ông Bé tạo việc làm cho nhiều người và giúp nhiều người nghèo như ông trước đây.

Jesus is Poor

Jesus, the Blessed One, is poor. The poverty of Jesus is much more than an economic or social poverty. Jesus is poor because he freely chose powerlessness over power, vulnerability over defensiveness, dependency over self-sufficiency. As the great "Song of Christ" so beautifully expresses: "He ... did not count equality with God something to be grasped. But he emptied himself, ... becoming as human beings are" (Philippians 2:6-7). This is the poverty of spirit that Jesus chose to live.

Jesus calls us who are blessed as he is to live our lives with that same poverty. (Nouwen M)

Pope to FAO: more must been done to end scandal of starvation

(Vatican Radio) “Something more can and must be done” for the millions of people who are “still suffering and dying of starvation”, something which is “truly scandalous” in this day and age. Moreover, the current global crisis cannot “continue to be used as an alibi” for people, states and institutions to shirk their responsibility in helping the poor and hungry of the world.
